HealthSelect's PCP (primary
care physician) network has expanded greatly over the last few years,
and now the Specialist network is expanding too. HealthSelect is adding
approximately 135 new specialists to the network for 2003.
Many of HealthSelect's other benefits are
remaining stable. HealthSelect members will continue to participate in
the Avesis vision care program, and will offer
behavioral health through UBH. The Alternative
Medicine plan (with a very low co-pay of $5.00 for 6 visits) will continue
to include physical examinations and management, accupuncture/accupressure,
and homeopathic consultation.
Office visit co-pays will remain the same as last
year. Co-pays for pre- and post-natal care
will again be waived after the first visit. There is no inpatient
co-payment for deliveries.
Prescription coverage will continue
to be provided through HealthSelect's contracted network. (HealthSelect
members will not be covered through WHI.) Co-pays will increase
slightly, with generic prescriptions increasing to $5 (was $4) and
brand name prescriptions increasing to $15 (was $6). Mail
order prescriptions will increase to $15 for generics (was $8) and
$30 for brand name (was $12) for a 90 day supply of maintenance
medicines. HealthSelect uses a closed formulary. A link to the formulary
is provided to the right.
A full color informational brochure summarizing
all of the benefits of choosing HealthSelect is also now available. Just
